Healing cancer Naturally

Healing of all kinds starts first and foremost in the mind. Instead of resorting to radiation therapy, chemotherapy and so on, as soon as a patient is diagnosed with cancer, most importantly, the patient has to believe and be convinced that his mind and his faith in himself has tremendous recuperative properties. Radiation, chemo and other treatments that aim to burn away the cancer cells, only help to further weaken the immune system of a body which has already been ravaged by cancer cells.

Healing cancer naturallyNature at her best has an astounding treasure trove of foods, vitamins, minerals, herbs and life style choices at her disposal. The key to healing of cancer is to address and eliminate the root causes that lead to this terrible disease manifesting in the human body.

First and foremost, ensure that the body is cleaned thoroughly of all possible toxins like heavy metals, pesticides, undigested food, and gallstones, which have got accumulated over a period of time. This can be done by cleansing the colon, liver and by chelating to get rid of those heavy metals and toxins. A body’s first line of defense is always its immune system and it is weakened considerably due to accumulation of toxins.

It is highly mandatory that steps should be taken to cleanse, restore and protect the liver at all times to heal cancer naturally. It has been proven that cancer cannot develop unless the liver is impaired. Here is a five day therapy to help cleanse your liver.

On the first three days consume a liter or four cups of apple juice and continue to take normal food. On the fourth day, refrain from consuming any solid food after lunch. At six PM of the same day, take a level tablespoon of Epsom salts in a glass of water. At eight PM, repeat the same process. Again, at around ten PM, thoroughly mix half a glass of olive oil and three quarters of freshly squeezed grape fruit juice. Drink this mixture and go to bed. You may find yourself frequenting the toilet often. On day five, at six AM, take another tablespoon of Epsom salt in a glass of water. Same process is to be repeated at eight AM. You would be surprised to know that this process rids your body of all gallstones. This five day therapy can be repeated every month and it ensures that your liver is maintained in peak condition.

Contrary to popular belief, coconut oil is a natural ingredient that helps greatly to maintain a good bile flow. Beetroot, turmeric, milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and selenium, all help to fight against cancer and are great liver supplements too.

Not only has your body to be cleansed and detoxed regularly, but also, care should be taken to maintain your home, work place and environs free of pesticides, herbicides and harmful man-made chemicals.

Oral hygiene has to be maintained at all costs. Get rid of all amalgam fillings in your teeth. This alone can prevent and eliminate cancer from attacking your body. It has been conclusively proven that root canal treatment is more dangerous and cancer causing than amalgam fillings and are to be avoided like the plague.

All said and done, a little care in regulating your diet and life style will go a long way in not only cure cancer but also keeping it at bay once and for all. A sedentary life style, poor diet, lack of water, sunshine and fresh air, constant exposure to toxins are all major contributing factors to inviting cancer cells to invade your body. Ensure good night’s sleep, ample physical rest to conserve energy for healing and cleansing and you can be assured that half the battle is won. Resolve to adhere to a balanced diet, drink eight glasses of water, and get enough fresh air and sunlight and exercise daily. Lots of fresh fruits, salads, nuts, roots and tubers, toxin free fish and meat, little or no grain or dairy products- should be the mantra. Take time to chew your food thoroughly to gain maximum advantage of the nutritive properties.

Fasting is an excellent way to embark on a disease fighting regimen. Not only does it help to eliminate wastes and toxins but also helps to reset the body to optimum health levels to fight cancer and other illnesses. Making it a habit to fast once a week is an excellent tactic to keep your body cleansed and also to reach and maintain optimum weight. The best way to fast would be to go on a juice and vegetables only diet for a day.

Sunshine has always been vital to good health and survival. There is a synergistic relationship between sunshine and good health. Abundant sunshine is excellent for controlling tumor growth. It also prevents cancer by stimulating the body to produce Vitamin D. Sunshine, in fact, is known to ward off melanoma as well as other cancers. Contrary to popular belief, fair skin and incidence of moles on the body are major risk factors for skin cancer and not over exposure to the sun.

Far too many of us shut ourselves off from nature and prefer to remain closeted indoors in offices and apartments. Make it a regular habit to take frequent walks in fields and woods. As often as possible, remove your footwear and go barefoot in the soil and grass. Start your own organic fruit and vegetable garden. If it is not possible due to lack of space, at least see to it that you have a semblance of a garden and greenery right there in your apartment. Use pots and other containers for your balconies and patios. Working with soil, water and plants not only helps you to experience calm, peace and tranquility but you will benefit greatly too from the extra oxygen as it removes toxins from the environment around your home.

Cancer does not survive well in the presence of well oxygenated cells. It’s been proven time and again that low cellular oxygen is the primary causal cancer causing factor. In order for adequate and proper utilization of cellular oxygen to take place, the daily diet should include adequate measures of unsaturated fatty acids.

Include plenty of iodine, selenium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, vitamin C, calcium and vitamin D in your daily intake of supplements. All these are vital in beating and preventing cancer. Take supplements of trace minerals too on a daily basis to promote immunity. It’s important to take plenty of healthy Omega 3, which is readily available in coconut oil, avocados, and organic butter. Omega 3 is known to help fight against wasting of non fat tissue, especially that of the skeletal muscle tissue.

To fight against cancer and to prevent it, avoid sugar as much as possible. Sugar feeds cancer as well as a host of other diseases too. Avoid bread and foods that contain bleached white flour. Avoid pork, all charred food, aluminum and coated cookware; microwave cooked food, and food in plastic containers.

Last but not the least, it’s important to focus on maintaining a positive attitude to life. Remove the word stress from your life and believe that you are a winner, always. Make it a daily practice to meditate, do yoga, and change your job if it proves to be adding to your stress. Cultivate your hobby or passion.

Cancer can be considered a wake up call for change, for attention. It asks us to delve deep within ourselves so that, with a positive attitude, a relaxed mind and a healthy diet, we can tap into the wellsprings of internal strength deep within us and help heal ourselves; heal ourselves in a way that we would not have banked on, until the disease demanded it of us.

Natural heart burn remedies

What exactly is heart burn? It is best described as a chronic condition that happens to be both painful and expensive. There is a huge market for easy- to-cure, over the counter remedies. Yet, there are some simple home remedies like apple cider vinegar, cinnamon and ginger that are even more efficacious in curing or alleviating heart burn; and less expensive too.

Heart burn or symptoms therein manifest when the lower esophagus sphincter opens to enable acid from the stomach to flow into the esophagus. Other symptoms of heart burn are chest pain, a dry cough, sore throat, dental caries, and asthma and lung problems. Chronic symptoms of heart burn can lead to narrowing and ulceration of the esophagus and even probably cancer. Most often, patients suffering from heart burn experience absenteeism, reduced productivity in day to day affairs and sleep disruption.

Causes of heart burn are wide and varied. Over indulgence in fatty or refined foods, coffee and alcohol can trigger off heart burn. Smoking, stress and over eating can be other causes.

Heartburn remediesTreatment naturally includes medication and if it does not prove effective, ultimately surgery is resorted to. If left untreated, long term suppression of stomach acids can lead to chronic digestive problems. There is also the danger of infection due to over growth of bacteria, which is usually controlled by stomach acid. It’s always better to resort to home medication rather than spending a fortune on over the counter medication to alleviate symptoms of heart burn.

The most commonly used remedy is of course, apple cider vinegar. It’s advisable to sip a tablespoon of unfiltered apple cider vinegar in eight ounces of water during meals. The vinegar dilutes the stomach acid and alleviates reflex symptoms without impairing digestion. Apple cider vinegar is rich in vitamins and trace minerals. Furthermore, it provides an alkaline environment while helping to destroy harmful bacteria.

Cinnamon is also an excellent remedy for all digestive problems including heart burn. It aids in reducing stomach acids and also has antibiotic and anti fungal properties which aids in digestion. Ginger too helps to calm stomach acid and relaxes the muscles of the esophagus. Sip tea made with the roots of fresh ginger to which a pinch of cinnamon is added, this helps to relieve symptoms of heart burn.

Heart burn causes at times, a sensation of burning and acute chest pain that emanates from behind the breast bone and proceeds to the neck and throat. This pain and pressure can sometimes last up to two hours and most often worsens after eating. Some plausible causes can be attributed to bending over, tight clothing or lying down immediately after meals.

Those normally affected with symptoms of heart burn would do well to refrain from taking caffeinated beverages, citrus fruits, chocolates, acidic vegetables, mint, spicy foods and fatty foods. Smoking too can aggravate heartburn symptoms.

Next time you reach out for antacids to alleviate your heartburn symptoms, consider making simple but effective changes in your eating habits. Eating too fast or eating certain foods can trigger off heart burn. Most of us know that heart burn manifests when foods mix with acid to form a liquid that moves up into the esophagus. This causes chest pain or a burning sensation in the stomach. Antacids while blocking the stomach acid effectively blocks out the absorption of nutrients and hinder proper digestion. Apart from interfering with proper digestion, and nutrient absorption, over the counter medications do produce startling side effects.

Most antacids contain aluminum compounds that cause constipation, magnesium compounds causing diarrhea, sodium bicarbonate which triggers gas and bloating, and calcium carbonate which induces the stomach to create more acid than usual.

What can be done to address this chronic heart burn conditions? Start out by reducing intake of onions, garlic, hot and spicy foods, fatty or greasy foods, fried foods, highly acidic foods like tomatoes and citrus. Chocolate and coffee can also be culprits. Refrain from eating too fast, do not lie down immediately after a heavy meal and do not gorge on food.

If you do experience heart burn, you need to immediately drink a glass of water. Heart burn actually begins as a signal of water shortage in the body. Water can alleviate most symptoms of heart burn more easily than any medication.

Stress can be a major contributory factor to heart burn. Alleviate and reduce stress by resorting to breathing and daily meditation techniques. Keep track of foods that trigger off heart burn in you.

Avoid citrus fruits, citrus juices, chocolates, pepper mints, alcohol consumption in excess, red wine, coffees, cola and all carbonated drinks. Resolve to eat smaller and more frequent meals. Large meals tend to expand the stomach and can cause an increase in the upward pressure against the esophageal sphincter. Do not go to bed immediately after a meal. Wait for two to three hours before you do go to sleep, since gravity aids in keeping stomach juices from backing into the esophagus. It also helps in the proper flow of food and digestive juices from stomach to the intestines.

Raise your head a little higher than the stomach, using pillows, while lying down. Lying down flat can increase pressure on the stomach.

As far as possible, cut down on smoking as it stimulates production of stomach acid.

Natural cures for heart disease

Coronary Heart Disease (Coronary Artery Disease)

The term coronary heart disease covers a group of clinical syndromes arising particularly from failure of the coronary arteries to supply sufficient blood to the heart. They include angina pectoris, coronary thrombosis or heart attack, and sudden death without infarction.

Causes and Symptoms

A common symptom of heart disease is shortness of breath, which is caused by the blood being deprived of the proper amount of oxygen. Another common symptom is chest pain or pain down either arm. Other symptoms are palpitations, fainting, emotional instability, cold hands and feet, frequent perspiration, and fatigue.

The basic causes of heart disease are wrong feeding habits, faulty style of living and various stresses. The famous Framingham Heart Study of the National Heart and Lung Institute in Massachusetts, identified seven major risk factors in coronary heart disease. These are: (1) elevated blood levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, and other fatty substances; (2) elevated blood pressure; (3) elevated blood uric acid levels (mainly caused by high protein diet); (4) certain metabolic disorders, notably diabetes; (5) obesity; (6) smoking; and (7) lack of physical exercise. Each or a combination of these risk factors can contribute to heart disease. Most of them are of dietary origin. Constant worry and tension stimulate the adrenal glands to produce more adrenaline and cortisone. This also contributes to constricted arteries, high blood pressure and increased work for the heart.

Natural cures for heart disease

Grapes: Fresh fruits in general are beneficial in the treatment of heart disease. They tone up the heart. Grapes are especially effective in heart pain and palpitation of the heart, and the disease can be rapidly controlled if the patient adopts an exclusive diet of grapes for a few days. Grape juice is particularly valuable when one is actually suffering from a heart attack.

Apple: Apples have heart-stimulating properties. Patients suffering from a weak heart will benefit greatly by making liberal use of this fruit and apple jam.

Indian Gooseberry: Indian gooseberry is considered an effective home remedy for heart disease. It tones up the functions of all the organs of the body, and builds up health by destroying the heterogenous elements and renewing lost energy. When the fruit is in season, one medium-sized Indian gooseberry can be taken with a little salt daily; when not in season, dry pieces can be chewed.

Onion: Onions have been found valuable in heart disease. They are useful in normalising the percentage of blood cholesterol by oxidising excess cholesterol. One teaspoon of raw onion juice first thing in the morning is beneficial in such cases.

Honey: Honey has got marvellous properties to prevent all sorts of heart disease. Honey tones up the heart and improves the circulation. It is also effective in cardiac pain and palpitation of the heart. One tablespoon daily after food is sufficient to prevent all sorts of heart troubles.

Asparagus: Asparagus is an excellent food for strengthening the heart. A good medicine for a weak or an enlarged heart is prepared by mixing the freshly extracted juice of this vegetable with honey, in the ratio of 2:1. A teaspoon of this medicine should be taken three times daily. Patients with heart disease will also benefit by steam cooking this vegetable.

Alfalfa: The herb alfalfa in the form of juice has been found very helpful in most troubles related to the arteries and heart diseases. Only the leaves of the plant are used for this purpose, when they can be obtained fresh. The juice of fresh alfalfa is, however, too strong and potent to be taken by itself. It is best taken with carrot juice in equal quantities of 125 ml each, twice daily. In this combination, the individual benefits of each juice are intensified.

Safflower: Safflower oil has proved beneficial in lowering blood cholesterol. Hence it can be used liberally with persons suffering from cardiovascular disorders. An emulsion with the trade name Saffloxin-Cipla is used routinely during myocardial infarction, cardiac ischaemia, and hypertension.

Vitamin E: Patients with heart disease should increase their intake of foods rich in vitamin E, as this vitamin is said to promote heart function by improving oxygenation of the cells. It also improves the circulation and muscle strength. Many wholemeal products and green vegetables, particularly outer leaves of cabbage, are good sources of vitamin E.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C is also essential as it protects against spontaneous breaches in capillary walls which can lead to heart attacks. It also guards against high blood cholesterol. The stress of anger, fear, disappointment, and similar emotions can raise blood fat and cholesterol levels immediately but this reaction to stress can do little harm if the diet is adequate in vitamin C and pantothenic acid. One of the richest sources of vitamin C is citrus fruits.

Dietary Considerations

The fundamental conditioning factor in all heart diseases is the diet, which should be lacto-vegetarian, and low on sodium and calories. It should consist of high quality, natural organic foods, with emphasis on wholegrains, seeds, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Foods which should be eliminated from the diet include white flour products, sweets, chocolates, canned foods in syrup, soft drinks, squashes, tea, coffee, alcohol, and tobacco, and all solid fats of animal origin such as butter, cream, and fatty meats. Salt and sugar should be reduced substantially.

Other Measures

The patient should also pay attention to other laws of nature for health building such as taking moderate exercise, getting proper rest and sleep, and adopting a positive mental attitude.

Coping with Hair Loss

In today’s society, baldness whether male or female is a sign of being physical weak and is often associated with individuals that are obese. Women seem to have more of a problem explaining their hair loss than men, but this does not mean that men can accept the diagnosis of the beginning of baldness.

Male pattern baldness can begin in the early twenties, which can be very devastating since many men at this age are still out there searching for their life partner.

Hair loss can cause problems such as:

• Low self-esteem

• Low self worth

• Less sociable

• The avoidance of exercise where others work out

• The avoidance of team sports

As with any emotional problem, a person that is dealing with hair loss should talk with their physician. From this point, they may need counseling in order to deal with the emotional problems and stress associated with hair loss.

Start hair loss treatment

Hair has always been a fashion statement. All the various styles that reflect the young, viral, and energetic men on the movie screen is the ideal head of hair, however, one must look past the ideal head of hair and start working on a hair treatment that will stimulate hair growth.

Instead of dwelling on balding, even if you know that hereditary hair loss is more than likely a factor in your life, do what you can to keep a healthy head of hair. This may prolong the effects of balding.

Things you should do include:

• Wash your scalp properly to stimulate hair follicles

• Do not wear a hat

• Talk with your physician about prevention

• Seek counseling

Just as a person that is over weight, has scars, or other cosmetic problems have to cope with the laughs, pointing fingers, and of course the exclusion from the in crowd, a person with hair loss problems may feel the same emotions. The best thing to do is to start a list of your good points. If you do not like yourself, no one else will. Have confidence in who you are instead of your head of hair.

Types of Hair Trasplant Surgeries

The different types of hair transplant surgeries include:

•  Hair Transplant Surgery

•  Alopecia Reduction Surgery

Hair transplant surgery is an operation in which hair is taken from the back of the head and relocated to the areas where hair loss has occurred.

With Alopecia Reduction Surgery, the following types are available:

•  Scalp Reduction Surgery

•  Scalp Flap Surgery

•  Scalp Expansion Surgery

Scalp Reduction Surgery is a surgery procedure in which the bald scalp is removed and the scalp that has hair is stretched over the area where the scalp was removed.

Scalp Flap Surgery is a surgery procedure in which a flap of skin along with the underlying tissue is relocated.

Scalp Expansion Surgery is a surgery in which a balloon type device is implanted under the scalp to create condition for the hair-bearing scalp to cover the area where balding has occurred.

Hair transplant surgery costs are decided by how many grafts you may need. On average a graft costs from $3.00 to $8.00 per graft, with $5 to $6 per graft being about average. Usually $1,200 will pay for your hair transplant surgery; however, it will need to be replaced once per year. In addition, about every 6 weeks it will need to be reattached and groomed which will cost on average $75 per visit.

Scalp Reduction Surgery can cost anywhere from $1,500 – $3,500.

Scalp Flap Surgery on average costs around $4,293, however, this does not include anesthesia, operating room facility, and the hospital stay.

Scalp Expansion Surgery costs around $5,000.

Pros of all types of Hair Transplant Surgery:

•  No linear scar

•  Decrease in healing time

•  No limitations on strenuous exercise after the procedure

•  Less post-op discomfort

•  Extends the size of the donor area

•  Enables one to harvest finer hair from the nape of the neck

Cons of all Hair Transplant Surgery:

•  Bleeding – a small amount of bleeding is normal; however, one in about 100 cases may experience persistent bleeding.

•  Pain – pain on average last only a few days

•  Numbness – can occur and may last from three to 18 weeks.

•  Hiccups – The cause of hiccups is not known but has been noted in many patients

•  Itching – is common and only last a few days. In most cases, shampooing the hair will help.

•  Swelling – almost every person complains of swelling. It normally lasts 2 to 5 days and is most often seen on the forehead and around the eyes.

•  Infection – infection is rare but easily cured with antibiotics.

•  Scarring – Keloid scarring occurs only in pre-disposed individuals

•  Cysts – have been known to occur when several mini-grafts are inserted.

Pricing a Hair Transplant

There are many factors that play into determining hair transplant cost. Though it is not impossible to find an affordable hair transplant, there are many factors that play into the cost. Be sure to do your research, ask around, and shop for price. Here are some tips to determine the cost of a hair transplant:

Amount of hair to be transplanted

The cost depends greatly on how much hair you need to be transplanted. The average cost of a hair transplant can be anywhere from $500 to $10,000, depending on how much hair you actually need transplanted.

If the hair transplant clinic you have chosen is new or relatively inexperienced you will pay much less for the hair transplant. It might not be in your best interest to go with a relatively new clinic.

Reputation of hair transplant surgeon

You definitely want to get to know your hair transplant surgeon . Ask how many surgeries he has performed and his success rate. If he is new as well, it might be in your safest interest to choose a more experienced doctor.

Real or synthetic hair

Ask your hair transplant clinic what type of hair they use. If they are using any type of synthetics as opposed to natural hair, you might want to seek other options. Obviously, synthetic hair will cost less, but will not provide the natural look.

It is possible to have an affordable hair transplant through various means. You can opt to pay in installments thus making it more affordable than paying it all in one go. There is often a substantial disparity between hair transplant costs at different hair transplant clinics. This could be due to various factors such as location, type of hair transplant procedure carried out the reputation of the surgeons involved.

Prices differ by type of procedure

Naturally, the very latest hair transplant procedures are more expensive because of the greater quality outcome.

Saw Palmetto for Hair Loss

There are many solutions available for men or women with hair loss problems. Unfortunately, very few of these solutions are effective or efficient. The most common solution is wearing a hairpiece. Unfortunately, even with all of the advances in development, these pieces are usually very distinguishable from natural hair.

Surgery is the second option but it happens to be very pricey and quite painful. Other people consume prescription medicines, but this can be expensive and only works some of the time.

DHT blocker

Saw palmetto hair loss treatments have been studied to treat androgenetic alopecia, which is inherited male baldness. It blocks and fights Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is the hormone that causes hair loss. Saw palmetto hair growth is most common in men but it can help with female baldness as well. It has been shown to be almost as effective as prescription pills but at a fraction of the cost.

Native Americans originally used this herb to treat urinary treatments. It grows in sandy soils found in the Southeastern United States. The flowers that this plant produces are white and it has long yellow leaves. It can grow up to ten feet.

It was later discovered that it can ease a painful prostate. Saw palmetto prostate treatments have been around for a time. Saw palmetto hair growth has been found to be a delightful side effect. Prostrate cancer or other prostate disorders cause benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which is an enlargement of the prostate. This enlargement can be very painful for men. Saw palmetto combats this BPH and saw palmetto testosterone regulation is crucially beneficial to older men or any man suffering from genetic hair loss.

Prostate

Saw palmetto has also been shown to increase fertility in women and has acted as an aphrodisiac. It has been recommended for urinary infections and respiratory difficulties. There is no way to know the complete range of benefits this herb has. Some doctors will recommend it for preventing cancer! As of this moment, it is proven to help hair growth and fight an enlarged prostate. These results are very well documented. It is much more discreet and productive than wearing a toupee or getting hair plugs.

Side effects

There are not many side effects to saw palmetto, as it is a natural herb. Those that have experienced saw palmetto side effects have experienced dizziness, nausea, diarrhea and constipation. These effects, though not to be minimized, are very commonly reported. Few, and it must be reiterated, a few have claimed to have experienced increased breast tenderness and slight increase in size. However, this is statistically similar to propecia, which is one of the most popular DHT blockers used by Men for hair loss.

Rogaine Side Effects

When you have hair loss problems you start being very well informed about all the treatments on the market. You keep reading and asking a lot of questions while you try to find the best possible solution to your problem.

One of the drugs that can be recommended to you is Rogaine, a solution that contains the active ingredient Minoxidil (in 2% or 5% concentration), in a mixture of 80% ethanol, Propylene Glycol (PPG) and water.

Studies showed that Rogaine is effective for 30% (although that figure does seem pretty conservative). Judging by the rate of positive comments from users in forums, the success rate seems a lot higher. The success rate for women users was found to be around 80% (though pregnant women and the ones that are nursing a baby must not use it).

Use for minimum 6 months to test effectiveness

No one can tell you for sure if it will work or not in your case. You have to try it for yourself to see it. That means you have to apply the solution directly on the scalp (on the affected aria) twice a day at least 5-6 months. Couple of hours after applying you should not wash/shampoo your hair. If after 6 months you see no effects, than probably in your case is not working and you should try other treatments for your problem.

The specialist cannot tell you exactly how and why this drug has an effect on the hair growth. They suppose that the minoxidil increases the blood flow around the baldness areas and this helps the hair follicles to grow. Like many other drugs, Rogaine has its side effects:

Side effects of Rogaine/minoxidil

•  The most common is the scalp irritation and redness. You can’t really avoid this side effect because it is a natural reaction of your body against the drug. But what you can do to diminish the effect is to stop using only Rogaine with 5% minoxidil and use it alternatively with the other Rogaine with 2% minoxidil (first one in the evening, the second one in the morning). This effect may happen because minoxidil 5% is twice stronger than the other one and has in its composition propylene glycol (not alcohol like minoxidil 2%), which can really irritate the scalp.

Flaking and Irritation

•  Dryness and flaking of the scalp is another usual effect, but you can avoid it if you use a good anti dandruff shampoo (Nizoral, Elsurex, etc).

•  An irritation of the skin may also appear if you apply more than 1ml, so pay attention to the quantity.

•  Minoxidil was initially created to help blood pressure problems and being the active ingredient in Rogaine it may create some side effects like: irregular or very fast heartbeats, chest pain, headaches. They appear quite rarely, but if they persist, although you’ve decreased the concentration from 5% to 2% and you do not use more than the recommended doze, talk to your doctor and eventually stop using the drug.

Stop using minoxidil if breathing problems occur

•  Fainting and difficulties in breathing can be other side effects of minoxidil (due to the change of the blood pressure). In this case don’t use Rogaine anymore and seek medical advice from your GP/physician. However, it must be stressed this is extremely rare in users.

•  Have in mind that a simultaneous use of Retin A and Rogaine can increase the risk of side effects because the solution penetrates better the skin (although that can help also the effectiveness of the drug, the combination is not approved by the doctors).

Remember that Rogaine does not cure the baldness, but helps the hair’s growth. Though if you develop some of rogaine’s side effects and they are unbearable stop using it. Talk to your doctor and try other drugs for your hair loss problem.

Dutasteride for Hair Loss

Many would regard Dutasteride as currently the most advanced solution to inhibit dehydrotestosterone (DHT) because it has shown to inhibit the two types of enzymes responsible for converting testosterone into DHT, which is responsible for hair minituarization.

If you experience hair loss and nothing seems to work, you don’t need to panic. There is still a long way till baldness. Talk to your doctor and try Dutasteride!

Diminishes DHT by up to 90%

Generic Dutasteride (Dutas) has the same effect like Finasteride – the active ingredient in Propecia – reduces the size of the enlarged prostate and diminishes the levels of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) by 90 % at two weeks and 93 % at two years.

Dutasteride, under the Avodart brand name, is produced by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and it is considered to be the best discovery in hair loss treatment since Propecia, although it is not a hair loss drug, but a cure for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous increase of the prostate glands .

What is to know if you want to use Dutasteride for your hair loss problem:

  • It is the first and so far the only drug that inhibits both types of enzyme (1 and 2) which cause the conversion of testosterone to DHT (the main androgen responsible for male baldness and prostate growth)

  • A gelatin capsule of Avodart can contains from 0.01 mg, 0.05 mg, 0.5 mg, 2.5 mg, to 0.5 mg of the active ingredient (dutasteride)

  • Do talk to your doctor about the needed dosage (for hair loss it seems enough a dose of 2.5 mg);

More effective than Finasteride

  • A daily capsule of 2.5 mg or 5.0 mg inhibits close to 100% of the DHT while 5.0 mg daily dosage of Finasteride can only inhibit about 70% of the DHT

  • You can take the capsule with a glass of water and with or without food

  • You may donate blood only 6 month after your last dose of drug

  • Usually a 3 to 6 month period is required to see if dutasteride is efficient as treatment or not, so don’t stop the treatment before you talk to your doctor

  • The drug is not allowed for women and children

  • A pregnant woman should not even handle a capsule because if it is crashed the dutasteride can be absorbed through the skin and that can cause malformation to the unborn baby

Side effects

  • There are also side effects: impotence, a decrease in libido. They appear to a small amount of patients and may disappear in time

Although it was not meant for solving hair loss problems, dutasteride seems to be the answer to your prayer. If you tried everything else and your doctor says ok, go for it! Remember, Dutasteride is currently often a last resort for many who have had little luck with other cheaper alternatives such as Propecia.

Propecia for Hair Loss

This guide will explain how using finasteride (propecia) can be used to stop hair loss. Propecia has been proven to stop hair loss in scientific studies carried out by drug maker Merck, maker of Propecia, and also in independent studies, all monitored by the Food And Drug Administration (FDA).

It has been approved as a treatment to stop hair loss based on those findings. Although, some propecia users have experienced some side effects, it must be stated that the number is very small – below 3%, and usually the side effects subside after continued use. More on side effects below.

What is finasteride

Propecia is the brand name used for the hair loss treatments containing finasteride.

Propecia contains 1 mg of finasteride, which was initially created and used for the treatment of enlarged prostate glands. Finasteride blocks 5-alpha reductase, which is an enzyme that converts testosterone into di-hydro- testosterone (DHT).

DHT is responsible for hair loss/miniaturization because it binds to hair follicles, restricting their ability to generate new and fully grown hair. Without treatment, the affected follicles will produce shorter hair each hair growth cycle and eventually producing hair that is barely visible.

In theory, propecia stops converting testesterone into DHT, thus stopping DHT binding to the follicles.

Propecia – proven to stop hair loss

Propecia is undoubtedly one of the best hair loss treatments because it has proven to work and is also very convenient. Just pop in a small pill everyday and there is no need to mess with the hair. It is particularly good for those with minimal hair loss because users can be confident of keeping their hair without further progression of hair loss.

Directions for use of propecia (finasteride)

Propecia should be taken as soon as a man observes the first signs of a hair loss problem (androgenetic alopecia). The pills are to to be taken once a day after acquiring a doctor’s prescription. The results appear after a period of several months. The inconvenience is that if you stop taking them, their favorable effects on hair growth stops with it, and in a few months your scalp will regain the same look as it had before using propecia.

Although 1 mg of finasteride is recommended, there is evidence (according to many users posting messages) that users can gain similar results by cutting a single propecia pill in four i.e. taking .25 mg of finasteride a day. This represents large savings as 1 month’s worth of tablets will last 4 months.

Propecia side effects

There are some side effects to be taken in consideration by men too (although they appear at a minority of users, 3%, and they tend to diminish as the body gets used to the drug effect). The common side effects mentioned by the specialists are: less sexual desire, problems in achieving an erection, a decrease of sperm production.

Cost

The brand name propecia from Merck is relatively expensive, but you may feel it is a small price to pay to keep your hair and looks.

Generic finasteride

Propecia isn’t cheap. Many users have been known to opt for generic versions of the drug that can be purchased online. Generic propecia is significantly cheaper and is considered to provide very similar results.

Propecia and minoxidil

If one suffers hair loss that has become very visible and is perhaps on Norwood scale of 3 or more, then using propecia alone is perhaps not ideal. Using propecia in combination with minoxidil, the most widely used hair growth stimulant, is likely to generate better and more noticeable results.

Women should avoid using propecia

Women and children must not use the drug. Pregnant women in particular should avoid using it due to the possibility of harm to a fetus.

If you are worried about the side effects, just talk to your doctor and decide together what is the best solution for your hair loss problem.
